The 61st Venice Biennale
The 61st International Art Exhibition of La Biennale di Venezia opens to the public from 9 May to 22 November 2026, across the Giardini, the Arsenale and various venues throughout the city.
The exhibition, titled In Minor Keys, carries the signature of Cameroonian curator Koyo Kouoh, who died prematurely in May 2025: the Biennale decided to carry out her project regardless, completed by her team with the support of her family. The title evokes an idea of art that shuns rhetoric and spectacle, dwelling instead in lower tones, in spaces of listening and improvisation.
The central exhibition brings together 111 artists, collectives and organisations, alongside the national pavilions that animate, as tradition has it, the whole city during the early-May pre-opening and throughout the run of the exhibition.
